May 20, 2025 - Funfly Eastern Shore - Sassafras River

Today's weather was decent for flying -- warm, high scattered layer, light winds -- so I took advantage and went for a funfly after pickleball.  I headed over to the Eastern Shore and did most of my flying around the Sassafras River, pictured here.

This mansion has a huge front lawn.

Not sure what this mansion & complex is, but its big parking lot is full.

Another mansion, although this one is small.

But it had this impressive tree-lined road leading up to it.

I think they did a much bigger mansion to go with the magnificent tree-lined driveway.

Back on the Sassafras River.

Flying up one of the many creeks off the Sassafras.

Heading for Lloyd's Creek sand bar -- a favorite spot for boaters.  But not today.

Heading up one of the offshoots of Lloyd's Creek.

And back down another off shoot.

Looking down at a sandbar only populated by seagulls.

Passing by an abandoned fire-watch tower.

Deer!

Wild turkey!  Plus a couple of deer.

Intricate patterns in the grass.
